Nissan 350Z

The 2003 350Z is an important vehicle to Nissan for the coupe market segment. The Performance is a member of a series of five trim levels for the 350Z which include Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring, and Track. The two-door car with its rear-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Nissan. There is strong competition from vehicles from Lexus.

Engine Performance

The restyled 350Z Performance is equipped with a Nissan 3.5-liter 6-cylinder engine that utilizes a total of 24 valves. The engine is paired with a Nissan 6-speed transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Nissan.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The 350Z has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

350Z Performance Statistics

The 350Z is 169.40 inches long, 71.50 inches wide, and 51.90 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 104.30 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $26,370 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $24,663. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 2003 350Z is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 20.00 gallons.

The 350Z Performance received a miles-per-gallon rating of twenty in-city driving and twenty six when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was subpar.

Conclusion

The 2003 model year was unsuccessful for the Nissan 350Z. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Performance version) meant that buyers had several options to choose from..
