The 1998 Neon is an important vehicle to Plymouth for the coupe market segment. The Expresso is a member of a series of four trim levels for the Neon which include ACR, Expresso, Style, and High Line. The two-door car with its front-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Plymouth. There is strong competition from vehicles from Infiniti.
Performance
The Neon Expresso is equipped with a Chrysler 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The engine is mated to a Chrysler 3-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Plymouth.
Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Neon has power-assisted brakes, with Non-ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.
The 1998 Neon’s normal fuel system runs on gas. The fuel is regulated electronically, with a fuel-injected multi-port fuel injection (MFI) style of design. The fuel tank holds 12.50 gallons.
Neon Expresso Statistics
The Neon is 171.80 inches long, 67.50 inches wide, and 54.90 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 104.00 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.
The standard warranty period for the Neon is 60* months, or 50,000* miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the coupe market.
The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $11,680 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $10,833. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.
Fuel Efficiency
The Neon Expresso received a miles-per-gallon rating of 24 - 29 in-city driving and 33 - 41 when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was subpar.
In 1997 and 1998 the Neon Expresso was availble in the exterior colors of Alpine Green Pearl Coat, Black Clear Coat, Bright Platinum Metallic Clear Coat, Bright White Clear Coat, Candy Apple Red Metallic, Champagne Pearl Metallic, Deep Amethyst Pearl Coat, Deep Cranberrry Pearl Coat, Deep Slate Pearl Coat, Flame Red Clear Coat, Forest Green Pearl Coat, Intense Blue Pearl Coat, and Strawberry Pearl Coat. Additional options were made available by the factory.
In Summary
The 1998 model year was unsuccessful for the Plymouth Neon. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Expresso version) meant that buyers had several options to choose from..

That seems wonderful though i’m still not too certain that I prefer it. In any event will look more into it and choose personally!
