The Golf GLS is equipped with a Volkswagen 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 8 valves. The engine is mated to a Volkswagen 4-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Volkswagen.

One of the staples of the Hatchback segment is the Volkswagen Golf. In the previous model year debuted a brand new version of the Golf with seven versions: GL, GLS, GTI 1.8T, GTI VR6, GL TDI, GLS TDI, and R32. Sales for the Golf, especially the Golf GL TDI, were brisk during 2004 and 2005. The improved vehicle quality and the modern styling were responsible for the boost in sales.

The 2004 Nissan 350Z Touring was introduced to compete in the coupe market. The Touring is a member of a series of five trim levels for the 350Z which include Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring, and Track. The two-door car with its rear-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Nissan. There is strong competition from vehicles from Infiniti.

As time has gone by several things can be said about the Nissan 350Z series: including the strong reaction most buyers have towards their car. The 6-cylinder engine is at the core of the strong emotions, it is reliable for its class and delivers a huge amount of torque.

In 2004 Nissan released the 350Z Base to the car-buying market. The 350Z came in five configurations: Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring, and Track. The Base configuration is powered by the 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 26 highway miles and 20 city. The 350Z competes in the Coupe market segment, in direct competition with Toyota.
