Several things can be said about the Toyota Celica series: including the polarizing reactions most buyers have towards their car. The four-cylinder engine is at the heart of the strong emotions, it is powerful for its class and delivers a large amount of torque.
The 1994 Celica is an important vehicle to Toyota for the sedan market segment. The Base is a member of a series of two trim levels for the Celica which include GT, ST, and Base. The two-door car with its front wheel Drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Toyota. There is strong competition from vehicles from Lexus.
In 1996 Toyota released the Celica ST to the car-buying market. The Celica came in two configurations: GT and ST. The ST configuration is powered by the 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 34 highway miles and 27 - 29 city. The Celica competes in the Coupe market segment, in direct competition with Lexus.
The Celica All Trac is equipped with a Toyota 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The engine is mated to a Toyota 5-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Toyota.
